We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator / Bookkeeper to oversee payroll processing, financial reporting, and bookkeeping functions.

Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, bookkeeping, and financial reporting. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Administration:

• Process payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including W-2s, 1099s, and other required documentation.
• Address payroll-related inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and assist employees with payroll concerns.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records, including deductions, benefits, and wage adjustments.
• Conduct payroll reconciliations and generate payroll-related financial reports.

Bookkeeping & Financial Reporting:

• Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
• Assist with financial reporting, expense tracking, and budgeting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
• Support financial audits and regulatory reporting as needed.

Process Improvement & Compliance:

• Identify and implement best practices to improve payroll and bookkeeping efficiency.
• Stay up to date on changes in payroll laws, tax regulations, and industry standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in payroll processing and bookkeeping.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Payroll .
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and general accounting principles.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to process numbers accurately and efficiently.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with employees and external partners.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.

Nice to Have (Bonus Qualifications):

• Experience in multi-state payroll processing.
• Knowledge of HR and benefits administration.
• Previous experience in healthcare or a related industry.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: $50,000 - $65,000 per year (based on experience, certifications, and company size).
• Hourly Rate: $24 - $31 per hour for hourly-based roles.
