The Senior Software Development Manager will lead multiple teams of senior technologists and software development engineers. Your organization will be part of the larger Global App Experience team, responsible for developing the apps and supporting systems for Prime Video across all platforms (iOS, Android, Smart TVs, Fire TVs, and streaming devices). The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional strategic thinking, crisp executive communication, and the ability to drive technical innovation at scale. They will have a proven track record of building 3year technical visions, leading crossfunctional initiatives, and developing highperforming engineering organizations that deliver customerobsessed solutions.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate multiyear technical strategy and architectural vision for Prime Video client experiences
  • Lead and scale multiple engineering teams across complex, interdependent systems
  • Drive innovation in streaming technology, identifying and solving big problems that unlock customer value
  • Partner with senior leadership across Product, UX, and Engineering to align on strategic priorities and resource allocation
  • Establish engineering excellence standards, operational metrics, and continuous improvement practices across teams
  • Present technical strategy and progress to VPlevel stakeholders with clarity and executive presence

A day in the life

  • Facilitate strategic planning sessions to define 3year technical roadmaps and architectural evolution
  • Conduct leadership team meetings to align on crossteam dependencies and remove organizational blockers
  • Review and provide strategic guidance on major architectural decisions and system design proposals
  • Partner with peers to negotiate resource allocation and coordinate largescale initiatives
  • Mentor engineering managers and senior engineers on technical leadership and career development
  • Analyze customer experience metrics and drive datadriven decisions on platform investments
  • Communicate engineering progress and strategic recommendations to senior leadership

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of engineering experience
  • 5+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience partnering with product and program management teams
  • Experience designing and developing large scale, hightraffic applications
