Job Description
Madison Regional Health System is seeking a PRN OB Ultrasound Tech to be a part of the Madison Regional Health System mission: Committed to providing quality healthcare, close to home.
The OB Ultrasound Tech will be responsible for performing ultrasonic diagnostic procedures for patients as ordered according to established standards and practices. The tech performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians, explains procedures to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results, positions patients, selects appropriate transducer, depending upon depth of field, organ to be identified, etc., conducts scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment, moves scanner over specified body areas, adjusts equipment to focus, and makes hard copy images as directed along with documenting the tests.
Required Education and certification: Associate's degree in Sonography or Associates or certificate of completion from an accredited School of Radiology. RDMS (OB/GYN) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 1 year of employment. 1-3 years of additional ultrasound experience/training in OB/GYN preferred.
The working conditions will be in a clean, well-lighted area, with long periods of sitting and/or standing, and frequent repetitive motion of the hands/wrists involved.
MRHS offers competitive salary. Madison Regional Health System employees receive a discount at the on-site cafeteria. Shift differential occurs 6pm-6am Monday-Friday, weekends, and holidays.
