We are seeking a facility janitor to join our paper mill team!  

The Facility Janitor we are looking for has experience in building maintenance, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping floors, trash removal, cleaning of rest rooms, offices, locker and break rooms. Candidates must be self-motivated, hardworking, dependable, responsible and have a professional work attitude.

Essential Job Functions:

• Practice safe work habits while completing custodial and housekeeping care of industrial facility buildings and grounds.
• Maintains janitorial and housekeeping supplies and ensures re-ordering through supervisor when needed.
• Maintains custodial storage areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Notifies and assists supervisor when repairs are needed. 
• Perform grounds-keeping, snow and ice removal. 
• Recycling collecting and processing duties.
• Drive vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work, or pickup/deliver supplies including trucks and forklifts. 
• Post information on bulletin boards.
• Participate in meetings and training activities.
• The Facility Janitor will work as directed and is under the supervision of the Maintenance Department. 
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Demonstrated custodial experience required, experience in a manufacturing environment would be preferred.
• Additional training to be able to fill in during other facility Janitor vacancies will include; Fill propane tanks, Emptying dumpsters throughout interior and exterior of facility, handling empty tote bins, collecting and processing wood, shop rags and other recyclable materials for recycling, and assisting with transferring materials to outside vendors/contractors.

Mental and Physical Requirements:

While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to hold or feel, reach with hands and arms, walk, talk, smell and hear. The employee will be required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, crouch and crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The work environment may expose the employee to outside weather conditions, hot conditions inside, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment may be loud. Personal protective equipment is required.

 

This is full-time position. The wage rate is $25.77 per hour and includes an extensive benefit package.

Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
