Job purpose
The Contract Therapist will provide individual and/or family therapy to youth referred by DCS, probation and or/other referral source, many of whom have experienced complex trauma, abuse, neglect, or placement disruptions. Services will be delivered in-home or in the community, depending on client needs and agency requirements. The therapist is expected to provide comprehensive assessments, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and maintain timely documentation in accordance with agency and DCS standards.
Clients will include those referred by DCS as well as Juvenile Probation.
Those providing home-based therapy services can also assist in conducting Family Functioning assessments and supervised therapeutic visitation.
Duties and responsibilities
· Deliver trauma-informed, strengths-based therapy to children and families.
· Conduct Parenting/Family Functioning Assessments using standardized tools.
· Develop and implement treatment plans aligned with case goals.
· Provide crisis intervention, risk assessment, and aftercare planning.
· Collaborate with DCS, attend Child and Family Team meetings, and provide court testimony as needed.
· Submit timely documentation, including monthly progress reports and assessment summaries.
· Monitor progress toward treatment goals and adjust interventions as needed.
· Participate in supervision and periodic case reviews as required by the contract.
· Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in line with licensing board regulations and organizational policies.
Qualifications:
· Master's degree in social work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field.
· Licensure or temporary license from the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board.
· Experience with child welfare, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, Motivational Interviewing).
· Strong documentation, communication, and cultural competency skills.
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
· Must be able to pass all background and DCS checks.
