Job Details:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Bilingual English/Spanish Health and Safety Specialist for our manufacturing operations. This role is integral to our commitment to the safety and well-being of our employees, and the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and mitigating occupational risks, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization. This is a permanent position and offers ample opportunities for professional growth and development.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure safety measures are being followed.
  • Lead accident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to develop safety training programs and workshops.
  • Ensure our manufacturing processes adhere to safety standards, including the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents and compile reports for management review.
  • Stay updated on new regulations and industry practices related to occupational health and safety.
  • Promote a culture of safety and health by implementing programs that encourage employee awareness and compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Health and Safety role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and best practices, including OSHA standards.
  • Proven experience in conducting safety audits, accident investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and potential safety hazards.
  • Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to engage and educate employees at all levels.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite and safety management systems.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and deadline pressures well.
  • Must be able to plan and prioritize work effectively and efficiently.
  • Must have a proactive and positive attitude towards safety in the workplace.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
