Job Title: Fire Alarm Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team and ensure the safety and compliance of fire alarm systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role involves installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems. Work schedules are Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays, primarily in Western PA, focusing on schools during the summer. A company van and gas card will be provided for transportation, and schedules will be managed through a scheduling app (ensure phone compatibility).

Responsibilities

• Install fire alarm systems, including panels, detectors, pull stations, strobes, and speakers.
• Perform regular inspections and testing to ensure systems are functioning properly.
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty systems, resolving issues such as false alarms and ground faults.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on fire alarm systems.
• Provide detailed feedback on deficiencies and necessary repairs.
• Program and terminate wiring for new installations.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all work performed.
• Communicate with clients and provide training on system use.
• Coordinate with emergency services when needed.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.

Essential Skills

• NICET Fire Alarm Certification (NICET II preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years experience in commercial fire alarms.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools such as multi-meters and programmers.
• Valid driver's license with a positive driving record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with fire alarm installation, troubleshooting, and service.
• Commercial experience is essential.
• Diagnostic experience.

Work Environment

This role involves traveling from site to site and working in various weather conditions. The position requires adaptability and readiness to work both indoors and outdoors. A professional appearance is expected when interacting with clients.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
