5 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants We are seeking an experienced Controller for our affordable housing portfolio, exceeding 15,000 units, and growing. This position is based in Greensboro, NC and will report directly to the CEO. This role is responsible for the management of property accounting for numerous properties including collaborating with property managers, directors, residents, and vendors to ensure accurate, timely, and complete property execution from a financial standpoint. This role interacts internally with other areas of accounting and externally with Owners, Governmental Agencies, Lenders and Third-Party business partners. Qualifications A CPA license is preferred but not required for this position. Three to five years of direct management experience in an accounting role strongly preferred Knowledge of GAAP in the multi-family property management industry is preferred. Advanced level knowledge with MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel (including Excel functions) Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Creates a climate in which associates want to do their best by leading and communicating a shared vision with associates and providing coaching and development Prior experience in ResMan software or other property management system a plus. Abridged Primary Responsibilities Accounting Leadership and Strategy: Direct all aspects of accounting operations Internal Controls & Audit Compliance: Oversee internal control processes to ensure compliance Team Leadership & Department Oversight: Train, mentor, and lead the accounting department to ensure high performance and professional growth.
