Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview: The Yacht Project Manager (PM) is responsible for managing project-based job results, specifically ensuring the delivery of luxury yacht refit and repair projects under budget and on time. This role requires expertise in managing complex yacht refits, including yacht painting and finishing, as well as fostering strong client relationships. The PM oversees the development, execution, and monitoring of daily and weekly plans to meet overall project objectives, while collaborating closely with department leads and subcontractors to maintain high-quality standards

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of assigned project to achieve goals and objectives within specified timeframes and budgets.
  • Ensure customer expectations for quality, productivity, and safety are met or exceeded while managing changes in scope and pricing to ensure satisfaction and profitable closure.
  • Oversee all aspects of yacht painting, finishing, and surface preparation to maintain luxury standards.
  • Delegate responsibilities to Project Manager Assistants as needed.
  • Monitor and control project performance, making course corrections when necessary to meet schedule, cost, quality, and safety goals.
  • Oversee project close-out, including final supplier payments and documentation.
  • Lead department heads in resolving issues and eliminating barriers to project success.
  • Resolve day-to-day issues with customers, owners, and representatives while maintaining fair and consistent company representation.
  • Manage subcontracted labor and prioritize activities and meet or exceed schedule requirements.
  • Interpret specifications, plan project sequencing, and coordinates phases to prevent delays and avoid rework.
  • Ensure work orders are properly written and approved before submission to the customer.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and code compliance per project requirements.
  • Communicate challenges to senior management and provide team guidance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven expertise in luxury yacht refits, including yacht painting and finishing.
  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and Project planning software.
  • Knowledge of shipyard classification guidelines and construction sequencing.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and team leadership.
  • Physical ability to perform essential job functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, maritime field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant project management experience; 5-10 years’ experience in the yacht industry required.
  • Demonstrated success in managing luxury yacht projects, including painting and finishing.
  • Proven experience in planning, coordinating and executing complex, multi-phased projects profitably.
  • Knowledge of shipyard trades, safety, and administrative procedures.
