Winter Program Staff (Part-time)

Overview

Cantigny is a 500-acre estate in Wheaton, Illinois, which encompasses formal gardens, a museum dedicated to the 1st Infantry Division of the U.S. Army, and a 27-hole public golf course. Cantigny welcomes over 400,000 visitors annually to enjoy its educational and recreational amenities and public and private events.

For this winter season, Cantigny is seeking enthusiastic and dependable Winter Program Staff members to join our team for the upcoming Christmas at Cantigny event. Cantigny will be hosting an outdoor light show that will allow visitors to tour the grounds as well as the McCormick House.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about guest experiences, the outdoors and enjoy working in a beautiful natural setting. Winter Program Staff will play a vital role in ensuring Cantigny remains accessible and safe for visitors during the winter months.

Responsibilities

•Actively welcome and receive guests, providing prompt and courteous service and orientation of the property, programs and events that support the success of the Christmas at Cantigny Event.

•Answering general inquiries regarding attractions and park locations and give directions

•Collaborate with the event organizers and program coordinators to ensure the smooth operation of scheduled activities and entertainment.

•Handle parking booth operations, including ticketing and payment processing

•Ensure safety practices are being followed

•Scheduling will include evenings, weekdays, and weekends, with the ability to work rotating shifts

•Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

•Customer service experience or desire to learn is strongly preferred

•Ability to proficiently use computer systems for guest ticketing, payment processing and scheduling

•Strong verbal communication skills and interest in working directly with guests

•Ability to work outdoors in winter weather conditions which may include walkways that may be wet, slippery, or uneven

•Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time

•Proficiency in languages other than English, particularly Spanish is a plus

Salary Description


$18/hr.
