About the Role

Join BWS’s Digital UX Team within the Marketing division as a Frontend & Backend Engineering Intern. In this role, you’ll work closely with experienced developers and designers to build and maintain internal web applications and backend services that power our digital marketing experiences.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain frontend components using Nuxt, Vue, and TypeScript

Build and integrate backend services using Firebase and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Collaborate with UX designers, marketers, and developers to deliver high-quality digital experiences

Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code

Participate in code reviews and daily stand-ups

Assist in debugging and optimizing performance across the full stack

Required Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

Experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks (preferably Vue/Nuxt)

Familiarity with backend development using Firebase or similar technologies

Understanding of REST APIs and asynchronous programming

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Bonus Skills

Comfortable working with command-line tools, LXD, and Ubuntu Server

Experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, and cloud functions

Interest in UX design and digital marketing technologies

Compensation

BWS carefully considers a range of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated average hourly rate for this position is $32/hour, reflecting a good-faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on academic background, current degree, and location.
