About the Role
The Company is in search of new volunteer Board members to support its mission of advancing the art and appreciation of ballet and Canadian choreography. The ideal candidates will be experienced strategic thinkers with a proactive approach, and a passion for making a difference in the performing arts community. The Board is particularly interested in individuals with strong government relations, public affairs, marketing, social media, and/or revenue-generation skills and experience. Board members are expected to be active and engaged, providing oversight and direction, and to support the company financially each year. The role involves participation in at least one committee or working group, as well as attendance at approximately six Board meetings per year. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the organization, which is involved in touring, performances, community engagement, and educational events. The company has a rich artistic repertoire and is dedicated to providing opportunities for Canadian choreographers and content. The Board also offers guidance and coaching to the Artistic Director and CEO. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about the performing arts and wish to be part of a dynamic team that is committed to bringing dance to communities across the country.
