The Emergency Department (ED) is a 29-bed unit that sees over 50,000 visits annually. Although not a Level One Trauma Center, the ED treats a diverse patient population across virtually all specialties. The department focuses on performance improvement and evidence-based practice to provide high-quality care, earning the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) Lantern Award, a prestigious designation given to only one percent of emergency departments nationally.

Summary

The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague is a registered nurse (RN) practicing as a full partner on the health care team and demonstrating safe practice within the organizational professional practice model. This position involves independent patient care and accountability for nursing care, with assigned patients ranging from infancy to the elderly.

Responsibilities

The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague will:

• Utilize data and QI methods for continuous quality improvement.


• Evaluate and integrate best evidence with clinical expertise and patient preferences.


• Collaborate effectively to promote changes within a complex care delivery system.


• Recognize patients as partners in providing coordinated care.


• Minimize risk of harm through effective practices.


• Utilize technology to manage knowledge and support decision making.


• Engage in teamwork, cooperation, and collaboration to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A current RN license and relevant certifications.


• Strong clinical skills and knowledge in emergency care.


• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.


• A commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards.
