Position Summary Profitwise Accounting is a national cloud accounting firm headquartered in San Diego, CA experiencing its 19th year of consecutive growth. We are looking for a Remote (work from home) Tax Manager who will be responsible for empowering our clients to achieve their business and financial goals through tax planning, advisory, and thoughtful tax preparation and review for Business (S-Corp, C-Corp, Partnerships) and Individual tax returns. Provide assistance and guidance to junior tax team members as well as review their tax returns for accuracy and completeness. Work with business clients throughout the year to deliver strategic tax advice and tax projections. Conduct tax research as needed to support the team and clients. Perform closing journal entries in Quickbooks and some accounting review and clean up. Perform client advisory via Zoom meetings on a periodic basis throughout the year, reviewing financials, budgets, and forecasts. Supervise and mentor Junior, Senior, and Tax Consultants. Competencies 5+ successfully completed tax seasons preparing both individual and business tax returns (S-Corps, Partnerships, mostly). 2+ years of supervisory experience. Strong familiarity with bookkeeping and QuickBooks. Ability to multitask, work independently, and lead others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong accounting and analytical skills. Comfortable in a remote working environment. Recent public accounting experience. Critical attention to detail. Ability and desire to work on a mix of both tax and accounting work. Strong software skills. Proficiency with QuickBooks. Ultratax experience a plus. Effectively manage Remote Work environment & behaviors to guarantee efficiency and efficacy. Ability to successfully meet deadlines. CPA or EA. Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related area of study, or equivalent work experience. At least 5 years of work experience in finance and accounting working for a public accounting firm. Schedule Full-time, 40 working hours per week. Maintain a set of core working hours between 8 AM and 6 PM in your US time zone. Overtime availability during peak tax season.
