Videos Duties The Office of General Counsel (OGC) of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) provides legal advice and policy counsel to the Director of the CIA (DCIA) and other CIA officers on a variety of legal issues, to include intelligence and national security law; procurement and acquisition law; employment and personnel law; government ethics; fiscal law; general administrative law; privacy and civil liberties, and legislative affairs.
As the Tax Attorney for the CIA's Office of General Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal advice to the Agency on the full range of tax matters.You will handle the unique and challenging tax-related issues attendant to the Agency conducting its national security mission.To this end, you will advise on state, federal, and international tax compliance relative to clandestine operations, as well as serve as an expert tax resource to help ensure ongoing operations and relationships remain clandestine.You will also provide legal advice to the administrative elements of the Agency responsible for all variety of employment-related tax matters.As the sole attorney handling the full breadth of the Agency's tax matters, the successful candidate will have a broad working knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code, have the professional confidence to work autonomously, and be willing to assume one of the most unique and eclectic tax practices offered anywhere.An LL.M. in Taxation is preferred, but is not required.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications - Active bar membership from any of the 50 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the US Virgin Islands
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant legal experience with the ability to provide legal analysis and advice of the Internal Revenue Code, state and local tax laws, and all other applicable tax laws, tax treaties, and relevant Executive Orders.
- Ability to meet the minimum requirements for joining CIA, including U.S. citizenship and a background investigation

Education - Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school; LL.M. in Taxation preferred, but not required
- At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale
