Position Specific Summary Are you looking to gain teaching or science communication experience? Join the School Programs team and help guide science and natural history school experiences! Work-study students will aid in the facilitation of school programs for students in grades K-12 in Q?rius, the Coralyn W. Whitney Science Education Center. Programs are led by a museum educator, standards aligned, and cover topics like geology, anthropology, the ocean, paleontology, and collections. Students will assist with the set-up, clean-up and facilitation of a variety of school programs and assist with additional school programs administrative duties as needed. Shifts are available M-F from 9:30am-1:30pm. For more information about school programs, visit:
Standard Position Description The student will assist with administrative and logistical operations in a Museum or Gallery. asks may include: preparation of exhibit installations, assisting with preliminary research for exhibitions, assist in editing and formatting documents, general maintenance of exhibit space, welcoming guest and explaining exhibits, and office administrative functions. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.

Required Qualifications This is an entry level position, little to no experience required, all training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications Interest in science/natural history; enthusiasm to work with people of all ages; good oral communication skills; available 2 weekday (M-F) morning shifts a week 9:30AM-1:30PM. Background in education, anthropology, forensics, biology, geology, marine science, environmental studies or theater preferred.
