Job Title: Structural Welder $28-32/hr

Job Type: Contract to Hire

Shifts Available:

• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM
• (Includes two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join a dynamic fabrication team specializing in steel bridge components. This role involves fluxcore MIG welding , blueprint interpretation, and hands-on fabrication in a fast-paced shop environment. Candidates should be comfortable working in physically demanding conditions and be open to leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fluxcore MIG welding on steel components up to ½" thick.
• Read and interpret blueprints to complete full layouts and fabrication.
• Operate overhead and Jib cranes .
• Use fabrication equipment: band saws, drill presses, stud welders, grinders .
• Weld in awkward positions , including crawling under materials.
• Maintain flexibility and mobility throughout the shop.
• Potential to grow into a lead welder role .

Essential Skills

• Strong experience in structural welding .
• Proficiency in MIG, flux core, and wire feed welding .
• Ability to work independently and self-direct tasks.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, kneeling, stooping, and crawling.

Additional Qualifications

• Skilled in blueprint reading .
• Must pass 3F and 4F weld tests within the first few days and a 3G test within the first month.
• Willingness to learn and adapt.
• Prior leadership experience is a plus.

Work Environment

• Small-sized structural fabrication shop.
• Messy conditions; no air conditioning .
• Hands-on, physically active role.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
