What youll be doing:

• Building scalable backend systems that support the unique features of Shelf and enable seamless user experiences.

• Designing data models, implementing APIs, and using cloud infrastructure (AWS) to create robust applications.

• Troubleshooting across the stack, from frontend to backend, and ensuring smooth data processing.

• Collaborating with a small, agile team in a fast-paced startup setting to iterate and launch features.

• Maintaining high standards for both code and team performance, balancing short-term needs with long-term architectural goals.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of backend development experience with a strong focus on scalability and data processing.

• Proficiency in NodeJS, Postgres, and AWS to design and support our infrastructure.

• Experience with end-to-end project involvement on product development teams.

• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, especially within dynamic startup environments.

• User-centric mindset, with empathy for creating impactful and intuitive product experiences.

• Comfortable with in-person work and open to relocation to NYC if not already local.
