As a Design Modeler, you will demonstrate your expertise in utilizing clay and digital design techniques within our Design Studio to shape the highest-quality physical prototypes for groundbreaking vehicles. Your unique contributions will be integral to the design and development of aesthetically stunning 3D models that showcase artistry, imagination, and innovation.
Our team operates with a flat organizational structure applying technical input from all levels, diverging from traditional product development norms. Responsibilities - Develop innovative exterior and interior design proposals from broad themes to component-level intricacies through concept modeling using clay and various CAD program mediums
- Strategize with engineers to develop original design and engineering solutions aligning with the design vision and engineering constraints, actively engaging in cross-functional strategy, timing, and process analysis relevant to vehicle development
- Proactively lead projects and supervise team members, which includes managing and assigning tasks, providing guidance, regularly assessing quality, and providing feedback and direction. Demonstrate self-motivation and adeptness in managing multiple parallel-path projects, showcasing a proven ability to manage resources, exercise a high level of judgment and deliver successful designs within tight timing constraints. Identify and present recommendations on trends and improvements in modeling practices and procedures to leadership
- Identify and analyze complex design issues and propose resolutions among various alternatives
- Demonstrate a high level of design taste and judgment, as well as technical expertise and accuracy
Requirements - Must have ten+ years in a fast-paced, high-volume creative studio with hands-on clay modeling design experience
- Exceptional at creating and maintaining cross-functional working relationships as part of the creative process, with excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple parallel-path projects, and a proven ability to deliver successful advanced designs under tight timing constraints
- Clear understanding of engineering manufacturability process to successfully collaborate across engineering teams
- Complex problem-solving skills and ability to find a fast, practical, efficient and aesthetic solution to engineering or design issues
- Expertise in utilizing and applying 3-axis measuring equipment for digitizing and balancing information, with a technical understanding of reading and comprehending engineering layouts, package hard points, and feasibility issues
- Highly skilled in all aspects of armature and frame assembly pertinent to model construction, with a thorough understanding of workshop machinery use and application while adhering to equipment safety regulations

Expected Compensation $129,200 - $193,800/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
