A contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher serving an elementary school setting in Fairborn, OH for the current school year (CSY). This role focuses on providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities, ensuring they meet their educational goals within an inclusive and supportive environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Intervention Specialist License (Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Intensive, or K-12 based on student needs).
• Strong knowledge of IDEA and IEP development and implementation.
• Experience with individualized instruction, curriculum modifications, and accommodations.
• Familiarity with progress monitoring, data collection, and formative assessments.
• Proficiency in behavior management strategies.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills with educators, support staff, and families.

Preferred experience includes:

• Masters degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or related fields.
• Background in inclusive education, co-teaching, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
• Training in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) development.
• Use of assistive technology and adaptive curriculum tools.
• Knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards Extended (OLSE).
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities are considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in close partnership with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Deliver direct instruction and interventions across academic, social-emotional, and functional domains.
• Adapt curriculum and assessments to meet diverse student needs.
• Collaborate with general education staff to facilitate inclusive practices and co-teaching.
• Monitor student progress using data to inform instructional decisions.
• Administer and analyze academic and behavioral assessments.
• Manage Behavior Intervention Plans and ensure their effective execution.
• Document and facilitate meetings such as IEPs, Evaluation Team Reports (ETRs), and 504 plans.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education requirements.
• Engage in professional development focused on special education strategies.
• Promote a safe, inclusive atmosphere that supports student growth.
