Job Overview: As a School Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing. Your primary responsibility will be to interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa, ensuring students have equal access to classroom instruction and school activities.

Responsibilities:

Provide interpretation services in classroom settings, meetings, and school events to facilitate effective communication.
Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure the educational needs of students are fully met.
Foster a positive learning environment by promoting understanding and communication among Deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers.
Support students by interpreting assignments, instructions, and discussions into ASL, ensuring they can fully participate in the educational experience.
Qualifications:

EIPA Score of 4.0 or higher OR National Interpreter Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).
Completion and passing of the EIPA written test.
School-based experience is preferred but not required.
Skills & Abilities:

Proficiency in interpreting spoken language into American Sign Language and vice versa.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals.
A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for Deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
