We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate shipment and receipt of goods. The successful candidate will handle all aspects of shipping and receiving, including inventory management, order verification, and proper documentation, while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Receive Shipments : Verify the quantity and quality of incoming shipments, checking against packing lists and purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Inspect Materials : Conduct inspections on received goods for any damage or discrepancies, promptly reporting and documenting any issues.
  • Shipping Preparation : Accurately prepare, package, label, and document outbound shipments in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Inventory Management : Maintain accurate records of all received and shipped goods, and update inventory systems in a timely manner.
  • Loading/Unloading : Safely load and unload shipments from delivery trucks, utilizing forklifts and other material handling equipment as necessary.
  • Order Fulfillment : Pick and pack orders, ensuring all items are accounted for and properly packaged for shipment.
  • Coordinate Shipments : Work with freight carriers to arrange transportation of goods, optimizing cost and delivery times.
  • Compliance : Ensure all shipments comply with relevant industry and international standards, including those set by regulatory bodies such as ITAR.
  • Documentation : Prepare shipping documentation such as bills of lading, invoices, and export paperwork, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration : Work closely with purchasing, production, and quality control teams to ensure smooth shipping and receiving operations.
  • Problem Solving : Resolve any issues related to shipments, inventory discrepancies, or damaged goods.
  • Maintain Safety Standards : Adhere to all safety regulations, ensuring a clean and organized shipping/receiving area at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in shipping and receiving, warehousing, or logistics.
  • Familiarity with shipping software and inventory management systems.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including ITAR, is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday with occasional overtime as needed.
