Are you passionate about automobiles and excellent customer service? Smithwest Service Center is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Service Writer to join our team. As a Service Writer, you'll play a crucial role in bridging the gap between our customers and automotive technicians, ensuring top-notch service and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers warmly and discuss their automotive service needs.
• Utilize automotive knowledge to understand and assess customer concerns.
• Create detailed service orders with accurate vehicle information and customer concerns.
• Communicate service recommendations from technicians to customers effectively.
• Provide cost estimates and repair timeframes to customers.
• Communicate with customers every three hours to keep them updated on the status of the repair and inform them if vehicle will not be completed that day.
• Schedule service appointments and coordinate with our receptionist and service manager for seamless operations.
• Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
• Maintain organized customer records and service history for future reference.
• Follow up with future recommendations for service work that needs to be completed.
• Order parts cost effective parts for higher profit margins and ensure that parts are correct prior to repair so repair is seamless.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a dealership or independent repair facility.
• Automotive knowledge is mandatory with at least some technician background at a minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Computer skills and knowledge.
• Being able to stand and walk around the shop for long periods during the day and to customers vehicles.
• Being able to work in bad weather at times.
• Able to assist customer complaints in a professional manner.
• Well kept appearance all day.
