Position Overview: The  Service Operations & Safety Manager  is responsible for managing and leading a team of HVAC technicians and support staff to ensure efficient and effective service delivery to commercial clients. You will oversee all aspects of the service department, including scheduling, customer relations, technician training, quality control, and budget management. Your primary goal will be to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, meet service targets, and drive business growth. This position reports directly to the President.

  Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and expense reports to ensure cost-effective operations and profitability.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth, upselling of services, and expansion of the client base.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track departmental performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Track T&M, supply house visits and closed work orders.
  • Oversee all service billing and expense activities

Customer Relations:

  • Manage and support customer contracts and ongoing relationships
  • Partner with the sales department to assist with estimate and contract reviews

Safety and Compliance:

  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and training sessions to promote awareness and prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Manage the Company Safety Team including monthly meetings, periodic site visits and safety awareness programs.

Team Management:

  • Provide technical support and guidance to technicians, troubleshooting complex issues and recommending solutions as needed.
  • Oversee training sessions and workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of service team members
  • Manage, schedule, direct the day-to-day operations of the team

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in commercial HVAC service management or a similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Highly proficient computer skills with MS Office, Service Dispatch Software and Financial Software.
  • Building automation experience is a plus but not required
