Job Description

The Senior Staff Accountant assists with accounting functions and financial reporting for the plant. Duties include (but are not limited) to preparing and maintaining financialrecords to track organizational assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities throughout the plant.Essential Functions:Assist in general cost accounting and other related dutiesfor the organization. Assistin preparing monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements. Assist in the maintenanceof the general ledger.Assistin coding invoices, reconcile accounts, and closes the monthly books. Reconciles bank accounts, and other financialaccounts, manages the accounts receivablecollections. Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financialaccounts.Assist with the preparation of documents needed by outside auditors for the annual audit. File any needed tax forms with state and local governmentsAssist Controller with software vendor to maintain accounting software systemsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Bachelorsdegree in Accounting, or related Finance/Business degree required4+ years of financial and cost accounting experience. Understanding and the ability to adhere to accepted accounting principles. Ability to create, maintain, and facilitate adjusting and recurring journal entries. Proven experienceand intercompany accounting and activity.Excellent verbal and written communicationskillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Accounting softwareExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail
