Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Information Security, Data/Library & Information Science, or Data Science (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years in data governance, information protection, or security engineering.
- 4+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview.
- Proven leadership in cross-divisional program execution.
- Expertise in DLP, classification, metadata, and Azure services (ADF, Synapse, SQL, Blob).
- Experience operating Varonis or equivalent tools.
- Familiarity with GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, and security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate, CIPP, CISM, CISSP, CISA, CDMP.
- Experience with SIEM/DSPM integrations and enterprise change management/training.
Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a skilled Sr Security Administrator 3 to join one of our government clients that works in the Fraud Risk Management sector. The Security Administrator will support enterprise data protection efforts by leading the implementation of Microsoft Purview DLP policies and operating the Varonis toolset to reduce data exposure risks across M365 platforms. This role combines strategic governance with hands-on engineering to ensure sensitive data is properly classified, protected, and compliant throughout its lifecycle. Key responsibilities include designing and tuning Purview DLP across Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and endpoints; managing sensitivity labels and lifecycle policies; and optimizing DLP performance. The contractor will also operate Varonis to identify sensitive data, remediate risky permissions, and integrate alerts into broader incident workflows. Additional duties involve collaborating with Legal, Compliance, and IT to enforce data governance, conducting risk assessments aligned with NIST and ISO 27001, and supporting incident response using Purviews compliance tools.
