JOB SUMMARY:
Occupational therapists lead the process in development, implementation, and coordination of the occupational therapy program. Primary responsibility includes student safety and appropriate collaboration and attention to each student’s readiness to learn, including needed guidance, discipline, and welfare. Employee may work in a variety of elementary and/or secondary educational, individual, or team settings and may rotate between several schools.

Occupational Therapist (OT) Requirements:

• Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) School Occupational Therapist certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university.
• Great communication skills with parents, students, and team members.
• 1+ years of relevant experience; experience working with, or knowledge, of Limited English Proficient students preferred.
• Initial certification by the National Board for Occupational Therapy.
• Bilingual skills preferred.

Salary:

• $60-$68/hr.
• $1,000 Sign-on bonus

Details:

• Elementary & Middle School, site-based
• Contract through the 2024/2025 school year – 37.5 to 40 hours per week
• Contract follows the academic district calendar

Occupational Therapist (OT) Duties:

• Evaluate patients by observing their movements, performing standardized tests, and listening to their concerns to establish an individualized plan of care.
• Competent care rendered to patients. Use exercises, stretching, equipment, modalities, and hands-on therapy to manage patients' pain, increase mobility, and prevent further pain and injury.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with patients and motivate them to reach their goals.
• Provide continuity of care by communicating pertinent patient information with the rehab team, physicians, and other disciplines as needed.
• Document all patient care in accordance with department policies.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
