Now Hiring: Surgical Medical Records Coder /Clinical Coder/ Inpatient Coders– Orthopaedic Specialty Preferred

Location: Remote

Position Type: Part-time/Contract

We are a leading Coding Company seeking an experienced and certified Surgical Medical Records Coder/Clinical Coder/ Inpatient Coder to join our established team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, results driven environment, and has expertise in surgical coding within the orthopaedic specialty.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for orthopaedic surgical procedures, office visits, and related services.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, and coding best practices.
• Review operative notes, medical records, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with surgeons, clinical staff, to resolve coding queries and improve documentation quality.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA compliance standards.

Qualifications:

• Certification required: RHIT, CPC, COC, CCS, CPC-P, or CCS-P (AAPC or AHIMA).
• Experience: Minimum 5 years surgical coding experience (orthopaedics preferred).
• Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, surgical techniques, and orthopaedic procedures.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (Cerner, Epic, or similar).
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments.
• Ability to work independently and meet productivity and accuracy benchmarks.
• 3M Encoder Experience a must.
