Description:
Float required within service line and medical surgical units, floating between facilities as needed.
Weekend coverage is required every third weekend.
Position involves working in a rehabilitation unit with patient ratios of 1:5 during the day, 1:6 at night, and 1:5-6 on weekends.
First-time travelers are accepted but must be reviewed by unit manager to proceed with the offer.
No on-call requirements.
Clinicians will float within scope to meet facility needs.
No block scheduling is offered.
Local travelers within a 50-mile radius are not accepted.
Pending licenses are not accepted.
Requests for time off greater than 7 days will require management approval.
Guaranteed hours are 36 per week.
Special requirements include working with adult and geriatric patient age groups.
Common patient diagnoses include CVA, TBISCI, neuro, ortho, amputee, cancer/cardiac, and debility.
There will be 3 hours of medical rehab required each day.
Special procedures and unit details indicate that there are no vents or telemetry.
Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy.
Required skills include acute inpatient rehab, blood glucose monitoring, feeding device management, NG tube insertion, PEG tube feeding and management, and many other nursing competencies.
Prior charting experience with the electronic medical record system is required.
Candidates should be knowledgeable about patient safety goals and core measures.
Wound care and pressure ulcer assessment/prevention are also essential skills.
Travelers can expect to work with various assistive devices alongside mobilization techniques.
The facility offers additional support services such as rapid response teams and transportation.
