Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Unit - Short Term Agreement - Nights - $50 at Norman Regional Health System summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Unit provides comprehensive medical/surgical care to adult patients with complex health conditions. This role involves patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, implementation of care, and evaluation of patient outcomes within a supportive environment. The position is for a short-term agreement, requiring a strong communication skill set and prior healthcare experience, with a focus on maintaining patient well-being during a 13-week assignment.

Compensation

• $50 flat rate
• Evening differential $2.50/hr
• Night differential $3.00/hr.
• Weekend differential $3.00/hr.
• 13 week assignment
• 3 12hr shift/week
• Hours not guaranteed
• No benefits

Our 5TA Medical team provides medical/surgical care to adult populations with a wide variety of complex medical conditions. We focus our efforts on restoring optimal physical and mental well-being in each unique situation with a constant goal of maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our patients. Our unit consists of 16 med/surg tele beds and provides post-op colorectal, urological, and diabetic limb care. We are looking for a high-energy LPN with excellent communication skills to join our team of healers!

Job Summary

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate
• Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
• Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current evidence-based practice, regulations and policy
• Evaluation - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions.
• Evaluates discharge needs related to plan of care utilizing resources as needed.
• Professional Practice

Education

• Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Experience

• Previous experience in healthcare preferred.

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

Licensure / Certification

• Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license. 
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. 
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.

Other Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
