This position is located in the Policy and Compliance Unit and is responsible for  general  monitoring of and support to all clinical and administrative food service and dietary activities, in conjunction with the Veterans Homes of California (VHC) Administrators and the Department leadership. This position requires broad clinical experience to coordinate implementation of statewide best practices programs. The incumbent monitors and documents nutritional needs and goals, maintains policies and procedures regarding food service department production, presentation and clinical sanitation, security, safety, and estimate food  and supply needs on a timely basis for the VHC program of the Department.

• The position(s) require(s) a(n) Registered Dietitian Certificate License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired.

Veterans may qualify for a CalVet Veterans Hiring Preference. Military service must be included in the Employment History section of the Employment Applications (STD. 678). The application package must include documentation of discharge, appropriate to the branch of service. The documentation must reflect a discharge/release under conditions other than dishonorable. If the candidate fails to include this information then the CalVet Veterans Hiring Preference shall not be granted in the recruitment.

Successful completion of a live scan and a pre-employment physical (including drug testing for certain civil service classifications) will be required.

STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS

The SOQ serves as documentation of your ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. 1. Describe the processes and systems used in LTC or other healthcare settings to include nutritional software systems (e.g. geri-menu, electronic health records, blueprint, etc.).

1. Describe your knowledge and experience in evaluating or auditing LTC or other healthcare setting’s nutritional and dietary services. This includes identifying deficient practices, developing recommendations, plan of corrections, and Quality Assurance Program Improvement (QAPI).
