Job Description
Randstad is seeking an experienced Purchasing Assistant for a contract assignment with our non-profit organization client. The candidate will take ownership of our procurement process ensuring compliance with all procurement policies, both internally and externally, while strategically managing costs and inventory. Qualifications:
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management
- Proficiency in ERP systems and data management
- Certified through American Purchasing Society, APICS, ISM, or willing to obtain

Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the entire purchasing process, ensuring strict adherence to all internal and external procurement policies and procedures
- Obtain competitive price quotes, follow up on delayed orders, and address issues related to product availability, returns, and replacement of manufactured items.
- Set up and maintain new vendor files and part history within the ERP system, and review vendor scorecards to identify alternative sources as necessary
- Conduct research to identify potential vendors, assess their offerings, and make informed procurement decisions aimed at reducing costs and improving delivery efficiency
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including vendor quotes, negotiations, contracts, purchase orders, receipts, and resolutions
- Schedule deliveries on large or blanket purchase orders to ensure adequate inventory levels while minimizing cash outlay
- Review material requirements, prepare purchase orders through the ERP system, and verify terms and specifications
- Initiate Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and Requests for Proposal (RFP) as needed, and obtain competitive price quotes for comparison
