Salary : $88,115.38 - $140,984.62 Annually Location : Southern Nevada Health District, NV Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 24-91-OCT-E-AA Division: Disease Surveillance & Control Department: Informatics Opening Date: 10/23/2024 Closing Date: 11/6/2024 4:30 PM Pacific FLSA: Exempt Bargaining Unit: CONFIDENTIAL Job Overview The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Public Health Informatics Scientist in the Informatics Department. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to four (4) months. Responsible for applying informatics principles and methods to ensure effective design, use and management of information systems for public health, clinical care, disease surveillance and epidemiological reporting. Note: This recruitment will close on or before the closing date listed above once a sufficient number of qualified applicants have been identified. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in health informatics, computer science, public health, data science or a related field AND two (2) years of professional health informatics and analysis experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Nevada driver's license. Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in SQL to write optimized queries Knowledge and experience with programming languages, preferably Java, PHP, and Python Understanding of laboratory results, susceptibility testing, and microorganism terminology Required Documents/Assessment Information
