Under the Task Order from MTDPHHS, this position will work under the Montana Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) to coordinate lead poisoning prevention activities in Hill County. Responsibilities include providing lead screening and environmental assessments, maintaining documentation, collaborating with healthcare providers, and developing educational materials. This role is funded through a grant running from 9/30/2024 to 9/29/2025, with potential for extension.
Nature of Work: Conduct lead testing of children, educate on lead poisoning, and participate in prevention activities. Travel for offsite educational opportunities and meetings is required. Hazards include exposure to infected body fluids, chemicals, and sharp instruments, with adherence to safety precautions.
Personal Contacts: Daily contact with the public in person or by phone.
Education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited program in nursing, health promotion, community health, or environmental health. Preferred experience includes public health. A valid Montana drivers license and personal vehicle are required.
Fundamental duties include performing assigned tasks, providing case management, conducting lead screenings and home assessments, and maintaining accurate records. Demonstrates punctuality, professionalism, and effective communication skills.
