If you’re a licensed therapist ready to make a meaningful impact—and you’re excited about using tools like AI-powered medical records and bioinformatics to enhance care—we want to hear from you.

About the Role

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Behavioral Health Physician Assistant, or APRN provides direct psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. This role combines clinical acumen with a patient-centered, trauma-informed approach to care. The provider will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated treatment and high-quality outcomes through both telehealth and in-person care models.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and formulate individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide medication management, including initiation and ongoing monitoring of psychotropic and medication-assisted treatments (MAT), such as buprenorphine, naltrexone, and Vivitrol.
  • Deliver care in compliance with evidence-based practices and within scope of licensure.
  • Collaborate closely with therapists, case managers, and medical staff to support integrated behavioral health care.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, side effects, and recovery goals.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) consistent with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and organizational standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and clinical supervision as required.
  • Stay current with best practices in psychiatric and addiction medicine through continuing education.

What You Bring

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (APRN) or Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Active, unrestricted Vermont license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), APRN, or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
  • High levels of patient engagement and treatment adherence.
  • Accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of all patient encounters.
  • Collaboration that supports integrated, recovery-oriented care.

Why Join Pathfinder Recovery

  • Remote, part-time role with flexible scheduling.
  • $70 - $80/hour compensation.
  • Direct supervision and support from experienced leadership.
  • Opportunity to work in a forward-thinking, innovation-driven organization.
  • Ongoing professional development in both clinical practice and emerging behavioral health technology.

If you want to combine your nursing expertise with the most advanced tools in behavioral health - and be part of a team committed to transforming lives - apply today.

Requirements

  • Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (APRN) or Physician Assistant Studies.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, or addiction medicine preferred.

  • Licensure/Certification:

    • Active, unrestricted license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), APRN, or Physician Assistant (PA-C) in Vermont.

    • DEA registration with buprenorphine waiver (preferred or must be obtained within 90 days of hire).

  • Competencies:

    • Strong diagnostic and psychopharmacologic skills.

    • Knowledge of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care models.

    • Familiarity with telehealth delivery and electronic medical record systems.

    • Excellent communication, empathy, and collaboration skills.
