Project Engineer

Summary:

Our client is a shipbuilding company who is looking to add an experienced and professional Project Engineer to their team. The Project Engineer will lead design development and technical management of assigned engineering projects. Ensure that manufacturability, safety, and technical requirements are met for products.

The Project Engineer must have a minimum of 5 years of experience leading product development in a heavy manufacturing setting.

Project Engineer Job Requirements:

• B.S.M.E. or B.S.E.E.
• 5 years of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic design of powered equipment
• Short notice travel may be required

Project Engineer Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Responsible for interpretation of and compliance with customer purchase specifications.
• Develop design or design concept and product specifications within cost and budget goals.
• Coordinate project and design engineers’ efforts, based on budget and schedule, when assigned lead engineering responsibility.
• Make or oversee preparation of layout drawings.
• Perform calculations.
• Prepare detail and assembly drawings when drafting assistance is unavailable.
• Confer with engineering management on problems encountered and questions arising on project.
• Develop requirements for and specify purchased components.
• Communicate with other Trident operations on project requirements.
• Prepare proposals with estimated engineering effort from customer specifications and to marketing requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and other assigned activities.
• Direct checking of all drawings prepared for use on project.
• Other duties as assigned.
