We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Resource Recovery Specialist (RRS) to support waste management, environmental compliance, and field operations. This role is responsible for overseeing hazardous and non-hazardous waste activities, ensuring proper sampling, storage, documentation, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to support multiple project teams across field operations.
Key Responsibilities Waste Management & SamplingOversee sampling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
Coordinate waste shipments and manage all related documentation.
Classify waste streams (Hazardous / Non-Hazardous) accurately.
Ensure waste materials are shipped within applicable regulatory timelines.
Maintain waste inventories (both onsite and in internal systems).
Oversee PCB wipe sampling and prepare associated regulatory reports.
Manage proper storage, labeling, and organization of drums and waste containers.
Coordinate and conduct drum swaps, ensuring accurate and clear labeling.
Operate a hand-powered drum cart (must be able to move approx. 50 pounds).
Monitor field waste handling to ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
Respond to emergent environmental issues, spills, and field waste requirements.
Order, track, and maintain inventory of field environmental supplies.
Ensure adequate stock levels to support uninterrupted field operations.
Support special sampling projects (e.g., suspect materials, spill assessments).
Coordinate and track analytical results related to waste streams.
Provide technical and administrative support to project and field teams.
Perform site inspections including SSI, Self-Assessments, and Hazardous Waste Inspections.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
1 3 years of experience in waste management, environmental compliance, or field environmental services.
Familiarity with hazardous waste regulations (RCRA, TSCA) preferred.
Ability to safely handle and move drums ( 50 lbs) using proper equipment.
Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to respond to field needs, emergent issues, and occasional off-schedule tasks.
Field and site-based environment (mix of indoor and outdoor work).
Must be able to wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures.
