Plant Manager

Summary

Our client, a well-known manufacturer based in Southwest Washington, is seeking a Plant Manager that will oversee day to day manufacturing operations. This is a high-visibility role that will require strong leadership, advanced management skills and an extensive background in manufacturing processes.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure a safe working environment for all employees by adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Lead, mentor, and train the Production Manager, Supervisors, and staff to enhance productivity, improve quality, and support the adoption of new principles and techniques.
  • Analyze labor requirements to ensure timely completion of scheduled production.
  • Assist internal departments in identifying and resolving issues that affect efficiency, productivity, food safety, and quality.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control, Technical, and SQF teams to meet customer specifications and resolve internal/external quality complaints.
  • Establish and review production standards; drive process standardization, metric implementation, and best practices adoption.
  • Develop and manage the production budget.
  • Ensure timely completion of action items resulting from internal facility audits.
  • Oversee the scheduling and completion of preventive maintenance activities.
  • Participate as a member of the CAPA team.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and SQF guidelines for all employees and visitors, in accordance with the Food Safety and Quality Manual.
  • Lead cross-functional continuous improvement teams to drive measurable improvements in quality, service, and cost efficiency.
  • Assist in setting annual operational targets and support efforts to achieve those goals.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in manufacturing, engineering, or the flexographic printing field.
  • At least 5 years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) leading lean projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
