A large cancer center affiliated with a hospital is seeking a hematologist/oncologist for locum tenens coverage.
The facility is located 2 hours NE of Springfield, Missouri.
This outpatient-focused position is approximately 50% Medical Oncology and 50% Hematology. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with at least three days a week required. Call coverage is minimal, as another physician handles most calls, with PRN call coverage needed for the locum. The average caseload is 15 patients per day, and hospital privileges are required. The facility uses Epic EMR, and responsibilities include general medical oncology and hematology consults, treating patients, follow-ups, possible inpatient care, and potentially performing bone marrow biopsies.
