Sentara Home Care is hiring an IV Pharmacy Tech to join their team in Chesapeake, VA!

Status: Full Time(40/hrs weekly)

Shift: Rotating (8.5 hr shift)

Hours: Days, 7a-7p

Weekend: Every 4th/5th weekend Rotation

Location: Independence Pkwy Chesapeake, 23320

Required qualifications:

• Virginia Pharmacy Technician license
• CPhT license through PTCB or NHA

Preferred qualifications:

• 1 year Pharmacy Technician experience preferred
• IV room and Sterile Compounding experience preferred

Job responsibilities:

• Prepares medications under the direction of a pharmacist
• Measure, mix, count out, label, record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders
• Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient focused and cost efficient drug therapy
• Responsible for maintaining compliance under regulation guidelines
• Performs tasks that require higher level of competency, such as performing pharmaceutical calculations and operating automated compounding devices
