Primary Responsibilities of the Part-Time Medical Receptionist:

  • Manage and coordinate appointment schedules for patients, ensuring efficient use of time slots and minimizing wait times.
  • Greet patients as they arrive, verify their information, and assist them in completing any necessary paperwork.
  • Process payments and schedule follow-up appointments upon check-out.
  • Answer and route incoming calls, addressing patient inquiries, taking messages, and providing information about services and office hours.
  • Maintain and organize patient records, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with privacy regulations.
  • Assist with the filing of documents and ensure that all records are easily accessible.
  • Verify patient insurance information and benefits, and assist patients with understanding their coverage and potential out-of-pocket costs.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, effectively communicating any relevant information or updates to both parties.
  • Perform general clerical duties such as data entry, maintaining inventory of office supplies, and assisting with billing and coding tasks.

Qualifications of the Part-Time Medical Receptionist:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and front office procedures is required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

  • Ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and ensure accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

  • Expert computer literacy, including proficiency in managing appointments and accessing electronic medical records.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
