About Us:

RSI (Residential Services, Inc.) is a private, nonprofit serving the Orange County (Chapel Hill/Carrboro) communities, dedicated to providing quality care and support to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). We are committed to helping individuals thrive and reach their fullest potential. We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals.

Position Overview:

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to adults with IDD in their home/work/community setting. You will ensure the safety, well-being, and comfort of residents throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide supervision, assistance, and support to residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and medication administration.
• Monitor and respond to any medical or behavioral needs that may arise during the evening following established protocols and procedures.
• Promote a positive and empowering atmosphere within the group home, encouraging social interaction, participation in recreational activities, and skill-building opportunities.
• Document observations, incidents, and interventions accurately and promptly in resident records.
• Collaborate with team members, including case managers, healthcare professionals, and family members, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for residents.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment, including performing light housekeeping duties and conducting regular safety checks.

Do you enjoy caring for others? This job is a great way to gain experience in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Pre-med, OT/PT or other human services fields experience! We provide training!

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Passion for learning.
• Driver's License

Internship Specifics:

• Can be used for college credit should it fall in line with your requirements.
• Three-month minimum commitment.
• Start and end dates are flexible.
