Join VMD Corp, part of Xcelerate Solutions and a leader in providing airport security services at various airports across the United States. VMD Corp has an immediate need for a Part/Full-Time Airport Security Guards with an active NYS Security Guard License.  

Job Description

What you will do:

Grow in a fulfilling career as an Airport Security Guard  working alongside a team of aviation security professionals. You will use your outstanding customer service and critical-thinking skills while providing essential security services at Albany International Airport .

Responsibilities specific to this role include, but are not limited to:

• Enforce security regulations and policies in a professional and courteous manner.
• Monitor behavior and report any suspicious activities or violations.
• Collaborate with airport authorities and law enforcement to address security concerns or incidents.
• Provide clear and concise instructions regarding the screening process.
• Conduct searches as part of the overall security strategy.
• Maintain accurate records of screening activities and incidents.

Exit Lane Monitor: 

• Prevent unauthorized persons or objects from entering the terminal via the exit lane

Security Gate Access Coverage:

• Provide 24/7 gate coverage at Airport Access points
• Verify the identity and credentials using established procedures.
• Verify vehicle operator 
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections according to specified criteria
• Perform additional duties as directed

Loading Dock/Vendor Inspection:

• Inspect all vendor goods to prevent unauthorized items from entering the terminal
• Verify the identity and credentials of employees using established procedures.

Qualifications

What you will need:

• Be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
• Have an active NYS Security Guard License
• Ability to work any shift including weekends and holidays (flexibility is key)
• Ability to pass SIDA Badge background check
• Ability to interact professionally with the public with a focus on customer service
• Proven experience in security, screening, or a related field is preferred
• Excellent observational and problem-solving skills
• The ability to communicate interaction with diverse individuals
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle high-stress situations calmly
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
• Attention to detail and commitment to following established security protocols

Competitive Compensation

• Hourly Wage: $20.00-$21.00/hour
