Prototype Metal Model Maker

Position Summary for the Prototype Metal Model Maker :

We are looking for an experienced Metal Model Maker, you will play a crucial role in bringing our clients' visions to life. You will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, understanding GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and fabricating metal models to the highest standards of quality and precision. Your expertise in metalworking, mechanical skills, and experience in a prototype environment will be vital in delivering outstanding results.

Shift times for this position:

1 st shift: 6:00am to 2:30pm must be open to working up until 4:30 when needed.

(Monday – Friday & ½ day on Saturday)

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Understand GD&T principles.
• Set up and operate a press brake to bend and shape metal.
• Welding skills are a plus.
• Fabricate metal models in a prototype environment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Qualify parts to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate effectively with team members.
• Maintain a high level of dependability and reliability.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Metal Model Maker in a prototype environment is essential.
• Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding GD&T.
• Ability to set up and operate a press brake.
• Welding skills are a plus.
• Strong mechanical skills.
• Knowledge of metrology tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Proven ability to qualify parts to meet quality standards.
• Dependable and a team player.
