Washington DC ACS 1155 16th St NW Washington, DC 20036, USA ACS Productions is searching for an experienced podcast producer who is passionate about science communication to assist in producing its podcasts, including Tiny Matters, as well as aid in the development of new projects. The candidate will manage the technical production, help manage the editorial calendar, conduct research, and write scripts. Here is what they will be doing: Assist with podcast projects (Tiny Matters and others that may arise) from concept through completion, including production management, script development, recording, interviewing, fact-checking, editing, and distributing the podcast(s) online. Content should engage, educate, and entertain audiences. Market and promote ACS Podcasts, by creating social media copy and establishing productive working relationships with internal and external colleagues, including other science podcasts. Define tasks and deadlines for projects with a medium level of complexity; hold freelancers accountable for delivering on time. Show initiative to explore, learn, and apply new methods to projects. Assist in other projects for ACS Productions as needed. Required Skills Highly proficient in Adobe Audition or a similar software Demonstrated expertise with the podcast production process, including writing scripts and conducting both in person and remote interviews. Experience with publishing process and using analytics to track performance and growth An understanding of the podcast market and a curiosity and interest in science. Experience with recording and being on mic preferred Strategic thinker with an adaptable mindset, uses independent judgment, based on organizational policies, practices, goals, and objectives when collaborating with co-producers to produce effective, impactful products. This role is based in our Washington, DC office. Employees work a hybrid schedule, consisting of working onsite two days per work week, as decided by functional area. The balance of the week is open to working remotely, though employees are always welcome onsite each day if they choose. A reasonable rate of compensation for this position is between $75,000-$80,000 per year.
