Position Summary:

The Medical Assistant - Administrative Assistant will play a dual role in supporting both clinical and administrative tasks. This individual will provide essential support to our healthcare team by assisting with patient care as well as performing clerical duties. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient interactions are essential to succeed in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Support
  • Assist healthcare providers with patient preparation, including taking vital signs and updating patient records.
  • Administer basic clinical procedures, such as preparing examination rooms and sterilizing instruments.
  • Provide patients with instructions regarding medications, follow-ups, and lifestyle guidelines as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for patient care.
Administrative Support
  • Handle front-desk tasks, including greeting patients, answering phones, and managing appointment schedules.
  • Process and update electronic health records (EHR), ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Handle patient inquiries and coordinate referrals, lab work, and other follow-up tasks.
  • Assist with billing, insurance verification, and other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring messages and follow-up actions are completed promptly.
Qualifications:
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Medical Assisting or related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant and/or Administrative Assistant in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, healthcare regulations, and patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Proficient in EHR software, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic office equipment.
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach with a high level of professionalism.
