Lead Plumber

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to join our Facilities Management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing plumbing systems across our campus buildings, including academic facilities, residential halls, and administrative offices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with building codes and safety regulations
• Respond promptly to emergency plumbing issues and service requests from faculty, staff, and students
• Conduct regular inspections of plumbing systems to identify potential problems and perform preventive maintenance
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems
• Troubleshoot complex plumbing issues and implement effective solutions
• Install and repair various plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers, drinking fountains, and water heaters
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job
• Collaborate with other trades and departments to complete projects efficiently
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency repairs

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or associate's degree in plumbing preferred
• Valid plumbing license as required by the state
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a professional plumber
• Thorough knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and safety practices
• Proficiency in using various plumbing tools and equipment
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Physical stamina to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
• Willingness to respond to emergency calls outside of regular working hours
