📝 Internship Details
  • Duration: 11 weeks, full-time
  • Location: Tampa, FL
  • Compensation: Paid internship; relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
  • Eligibility: Rising juniors and seniors (graduating between Dec 2026 and June 2028) in relevant degree programs are preferred, but all current students are encouraged to apply.
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

👩‍🔬 About the Team:

Our Diagnostics Laboratory team thrives in a fast-paced, production-driven environment where accuracy and efficiency are paramount. As an intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in specimen processing, instrumentation, and workflow management, working alongside passionate Technologists and Supervisors dedicated to mentoring future lab professionals. You’ll rotate through Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Flow Cytometry, and Blood Bank.

🔍 Internship Assignment Summary:
  • Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
  • Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
  • Scan and/or enter specimen and patient information
  • Ensure lab equipment is functioning properly and perform minor maintenance
  • Troubleshoot specimen-related issues
  • Replenish test bench supplies as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Complete record logs and administrative duties as requested
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality
  • Develop, complete, and present a Process Improvement Project
🎓 Education/Qualifications/Skills:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently under general supervision
  • Genuine interest in a career as a Laboratory Technologist
  • Ability to lift and rotate up to 30 pounds regularly
