Job Description

Rail Terminal Services is hiring immediately for this Railroad Non-CDL Driver position at the BNSF Spokane, WA Rail Terminal in a recession-proof industry! No experience is required in this entry level position, and we offer on-the-job training where we'll teach you everything you need to know in order to be successful on the job. The job is a combination of a Hostler Driver and Ground Person as they are 1 and the same job.

APPLICANTS MUST currently live within a 45-minute commute of Spokane, WA. OUT OF AREA candidates and/or those requiring relocation will NOT be considered.

Shifts:

• Nights, weekends and some holidays are required working days for this position.
• Typically 8-10 hours daily.

 
You'll have the potential to make $40,000-$50,000 in hourly wages with overtime included in your 1st year!
Starting Rate: $18.00 /hr

What You'll Do:

• This role combines the responsibilities of a Hostler Driver and Ground Person. You will learn to operate a jockey truck, maneuvering 53ft trailers, containers, and chassis around the rail yard.
• Engage in various ground duties, including climbing on and off railcars, securing tracks, and handling inner box connectors (IBC's).
• Assist crane operators with equipment loading and unloading using hand signals.
• Play a key role in stacking and unstacking chassis, as well as loading and unloading chassis racks.
• Fulfill other assigned duties in a dynamic and team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications: (NO RAILROAD EXPERIENCE REQUIRED)

• Be at least 18yrs old & have a valid Driver's License (No CDL is required).
• Pass a 7-year background check. (Felonies in the last 7 yrs, jail time, parole, or probation in the last 5 yrs or pending charges could disqualify applicants)
• Pass a drug test & a Physical Capabilities Test. 
• (No GED or diploma required)
• Strong communication skills required
