Job Description: Interior Designer
Overview of the Position: ECOMPEX, Inc., a premiere Government Contract (Gov-Con) service provider, is seeking an Interior Designer to provide supportive services for the US Air Force. This position will be performed remotely.
The ECOMPEX career position supports the following:
- Provide technical support and facilities planning in support of the internal Architecture program.
- Prepare facility architectural designs and provide construction knowledge management, interior design knowledge management, and landscape architecture knowledge management.
- Review, develop, update the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and other USAF standard criteria design/construction guidance.
- Evaluate, assist with research, coordinate, document solution recommendations, and troubleshoot technical problems for installations and higher headquarters to include Reach Back Center inquiries.
- Provide support for facility project programming documents including scope verification, refinement, cost estimate reviews, editing/drafting revised documents.
Minimum Qualifications: - Must be a US Citizen
- Able to pass a Tier (T1) clearance/background investigation.
- Must possess an accredited Associates degree or higher in an interior design program that is fully accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) or equal accreditation program of academic training in interior design.
- NCIDQ certification or state licensure, certification or registration is preferred. Must not be affiliated with a furniture dealership, vendor or manufacturer.
- Must possess a minimum of 6 years of experience performing facility interior design with additional experience overseeing the development of SOW and funding documents in support of the DoD Tri-Service Criteria Program.
- Must possess a minimum of 6 years of experience developing technical specifications, interior design and construction documents, and operating instructions for Air Force or Space Force installations.
- Must possess a minimum of 6 years of experience applying building codes, interior design and accessibility standards and DoD criteria governing interior design and construction.
- Must possess extensive expertise with the application of Industry interior design and construction practices and accessibility standards.
- Strong familiarity with the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) license requirements (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
